Best of Egypt in 3 days
    Day 1
Our three day trip to Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor started at 6.00 AM when we were picked up from our hotel in El Gouna. We were brought to the airport of Hurghada by a private car. The flight to Cairo took about an hour. When we arrived at the airport, our private guide Ahmed was waiting for us. We left to see the Egyptian museum with him and our driver Saïd. On the way to the museum, Ahmed already told us a lot about the history of Egypt and made us feel very welcome. Once in the museum, he gave us a tour and showed us the highlights, like Tutankhamon’s treasures. After the museum, we went to see a papyrus shop where they still manufacture genuine papyrus. Hereafter we left to see to see the famous pyramids and sphinx and had the chance to ride a camel. All along our trip, Ahmed gave us much information about ancient times in Egypt. You could really tell he knew what he was talking about. After visiting the pyramids we had a good lunch with a great view (pyramids + sphinx). Following lunch, we had a short stop at a perfume factory were they make perfume essences. After this, Saïd and Ahmed drove us to the airport of Cairo across the Nile river (see a picture of us :D). They dropped us off to catch our flight to Aswan. Altogether the trip to Cairo was really great! Ahmed and Saïd were really nice, great people. They made us feel very welcome and Ahmed had so much to tell. We learned a lot that day and really enjoyed Cairo. We’re thankful for such a great day and tour guide!
After the flight, we arrived in Aswan where our second tour guide, Ismaël was waiting for us. He welcomed us to Aswan and dropped us off at our hotel (Helnan hotel). It was around 8.30 PM and dinner time. We asked him if it was possible to get something to eat somewhere. He was hesitant if it would be safe for us to go outside by our own (since there are almost no tourists anymore in Aswan because governments advise people to not travel to Egypt). He offered us to tag along, to assure we wouldn’t get hassled by vendors or get mugged. Having a local around keeps them at a distance. We were very pleased with this and thanked him very much. After dinner he walked us back to the hotel was we parted ways.

    Day 2
Today we were going to see Abu Simbel. Since it is obligatory to go there by convoy, which left Aswan at 4.00 AM, we were picked up by Ismaël and our driver at 3.30 AM from the hotel. This is of course really early and the drive to Abu Simbel takes three hours, but it was definitively worth it! The temples are very impressive and Ismaël learned us a lot about its history. Guides are not allowed inside the temples, so we talked about their history outside the temples. Afterward, we got some private time to look around (approx. 1.5 hours) and then left to head back to Aswan to see the High Dam and the unfinished obelisk. Along the trip, Ismaël gave us much information about the sights. It was obvious he was very knowledgable about the subject. We had lunch in the center of Aswan and then caught the train to Luxor where we arrived at around 7.30 PM. Driver Mahmut was waiting for us there to take us to our 5-star hotel of that night: Sonesta St. George. The hotel was really great with a view of the Nile river. Ismaël told us that Luxor is a lot safer for tourists, so we could grab a bite on our own after which we had a good night rest.

    Day 3
Ismaël and Mahmut picked us up from the hotel at 7.30 AM and we left to see the Valley of the Kings where we could visit three tombs. Ismaël again taught us much about its history. After our “lesson” about the tombs, we had approx. 20 mins. to visit each temple (guides are not allowed inside). After the Valley of the Kings, we left to see the temple of Hatshepsut, where we could enjoy the impressive temple by ourselves. Then we went to an alabaster factory, where all the art is handmade. After this, we visited the Colossi of Memnon and then crossed the Nile by boat and had lunch at a nice restaurant. Our final sight was the Karnak temple. All along the trip, we talked much with our guide Ismaël and he taught us a lot of interesting information about Egypt. He kept it interesting and we also had some time to walked around by ourselves. Since this was our last stop, we parted ways with Ismaël and Mahmut drove us back to our hotel in El Gouna.

Concluding: we would like to thank our tour guide Ahmed and Ismaël and of course our drivers! Thanks, everybody for making this a very unforgettable, enjoyable trip to Egypt! We saw the most amazing things and were treated with hospitality. We learned a lot about ancient times. We would recommend everybody to book with Tours from Hurghada, you definitely get your money’s worth! When we arrived in El Gouna, the senior tour operator, Ahmad Sameer, even called us to make sure we had a good trip. Tours from Hurghada does everything to make you comfortable and happy during your trip.
