January 28, 20192 day tour of Luxor and Cairo.
We were picked up early in the morning from Serenity Fun City hotel in Hurghada, picnic boxes in hand, and set off for the 4-hour drive to Luxor. Seven of us, 5 adults and 2 children. Arriving in Luxor we were met by our Egyptologist guide for visits to Karnak, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon. We had lunch on Banana island, in the Nile, taken there on a colorful private boat.
What a fabulous day, ending with a stay in the Steinberger Hotel, in a room overlooking the Nile.
Next morning we were promptly delivered to the airport for our flight to Cairo. We were again met by our Egyptologist guide and whisked off to the Museum in the center, After this on to Giza and the Pyramids and Sphinx. Lovely lunch in a local restaurant before being returned to the airport for our flight back to Hurghada.
We cannot fault anything about our tour, it was fantastic. The sheer professionalism and kindness of all involved were outstanding. This was a trip we will never forget and would not hesitate to recommend ‘Tours from Hurghada’ to all, on their adventure to Egypt.

January 28, 2019Great tour in Cairo and Luxor
We had an amazing two days in Cairo and Luxor after our week of sun and beach. We started out with a day full of magical sights in Cairo, our knowledgeable guide Sameh guided us thru the Egyptian museum and the pyramids and the fun driver Shbeta drove us safely thru the Cairo chaos and picked us up early the next day for our flight to Luxor. After the easy flight with the complimentary business class upgrade we were instantly recognized by our Luxor guide Nermeen – she was the highlight of the tour, she took us to amazing places, was very knowledgeable and most of all so much fun! Thank you again, Nermeen, we will certainly be back!

We booked a 2 day trip to Luxor and Cairo online before traveling to Hurghada. This was our first family holiday abroad for 14 years, and I was a bit nervous about booking online, but the reviews for Tours From Hurghada were so good I decided to risk it. I needn’t have worried.
Our private air-conditioned minibus arrived promptly and drove us to Luxor to pick up Ahmed who was our guide for the day. An Egyptologist who spent the day giving us an amazing history lesson! Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s Temple, Karnak, lovely lunch overlooking the Nile, a short trip on the Nile, Colossus of Menem, before being dropped off at a 5-star hotel in Luxor. The next day we discovered he had arranged a morning call for us, breakfast boxes from the hotel and a taxi driver to take us to Luxor airport for our next day in Cairo. We were met in Cairo by another Ahmed, again more of an Egyptologist than a tour guide. We arrived in Cairo too early for our trip to the museum, so Ahmed took us for coffee where we could chill and watch the city wake up. He took us around the museum, making sure we saw the main highlights and important items. He clearly loved his job and his passion for Egypt history made it all the more interesting for us. Lunch on a boat on the Nile before going to the pyramids.
My husband has difficulty walking any great distance, so Ahmed paced our trip accordingly. Giving us all the information we needed in a shady spot, then guiding me and my daughter safely to the sites, before returning to sit with my husband. He negotiated a camel ride for us, and took pictures, making sure nothing was left out. His care for us was over and above what was required. When we went to a public loo, he gave us the right change as we didn’t have any small notes, we wanted some fruit, he stopped at a local seller and came back with bags of dates, bananas, peaches, guava, and grapes. When we discovered our flight back to Hurghada was 2 hours later than I thought it was, he phoned to check that our taxi would be there waiting for us, then after we had landed in Hurghada and in the taxi going back to the hotel the taxi driver received a call from Ahmed… he was making sure we had been collected!
Finally, the cost. This was the best value for money. It was a private trip with our own driver and guide. We booked some other trips through the hotel after we arrived, only to discover that we were on a coach with 20+ Germans and the guide would give all the information in German, and the basic information for us in English. Also, the hotel offered a similar package to this 2-day trip, but it was more expensive.

January 28, 2019Custom tour- Soma Bay to Cairo to Luxor to Soma Bay.
This was our first trip to Egypt. We did a lot of research before going and got quotes from numerous companies. We decided to go with Tours from Hurghada because our communication from Ahmad was always timely and impeccable. I had so many questions and he answered each one of them for each of the million emails that I sent to him. The booking process was quick and easy- we gave a deposit via PayPal and gave our names for booking the flights. Once we arrived in Egypt we paid the remaining balance with cash (we could also have paid via credit card which we were not aware of- but cash was fine).
We were delayed on our flight into HRG airport by 2 1/2 hours but our driver was there waiting for us with a sign that said “Tours from Hurghada” when we landed. The van was very clean and spacious and the driver was very kind. He told us a bit about Egypt, what we were seeing on the way to Soma Bay, and even taught us a few words. We stayed in Soma Bay for about a week before our next part of the custom trip. Once again our driver arrived at the pickup time that we had previously arranged (it was a different driver this time- but he also had a sign). He drove us back to the airport for our flight to Cairo. We arranged to fly to Cairo the evening prior to our tour which made for not quite as early of a start the following morning. We once again were met by a man with a sign when we arrived at the airport in Cairo with a sign. Mohamed was there to pick us up. He spoke fantastic English and we were impressed with him from the moment we met him. Our driver had fallen asleep at the airport waiting for us… so we ended up taking a different driver back to our hotel in the city. Mohamed spoke with us throughout our 40-minute drive telling us lots of stories along the way. It was so interesting! He went above and beyond and came into the hotel to help us get checked into our room and make sure that we were ok for the evening. We set a time to meet up the next morning at 8:30 AM to start the tour. The tour of Cairo was amazing!! We started off at the pyramids taking photos in front of the large pyramid and then we bought an additional ticket for entry (we were happy we bought the ticket as it was very interesting- a good recommendation from Mohamed!). Next, we drove around to a spot to take photos with all 3 pyramids. Mohamed was great at taking our camera from us and getting shots of us together. We never felt like we were “bothering” him asking for photos to be taken. He even had us take cute “touristy” shots as well. We mentioned that we wanted to do a camel ride so next, he brought us to one of the camel guys that he knew and had negotiated a rate with prior (200 Egyptian pounds per person). We took photos getting onto the camels and then rode them about 30 minutes from the spot we got onto them across the desert in front of the pyramids (stopping for photos twice) to a meeting spot near the smallest pyramid. Our camel guide did stop at one point and ask for a tip- and he wasn’t happy with how much we tipped so he hassled us for a bit about that before we moved on… so be ready for that. I would recommend not tipping until the end once you have gotten off the camels as it made the rest of the trip a bit crummy since he was grumpy then (PS. We tipped him 20% so we thought it was a good tip). After the camel ride, we went to see the Spinx- awesome!! Next was a stop at a papyrus shop (this is not on your “tour list” and we had the option to skip it but we wanted to get some souvenirs). Mohamed did not really give us a heads up on bartering before we went into the shop (luckily I had done some travel abroad and figured bartering was expected)… which we were quite disappointed with… I think it was wrong that he didn’t warn us and give us tips on how much we should actually be paying for things there- makes you wonder if he gets some sort of commission off what we bought. In the end, we got a large painting and some smaller pieces as well (paid about 50% starting price) so I think we did ok- but I was disappointed that the first mention of bartering was AFTER we got back in the car once we paid for everything. Oh well!! Next stop was lunch on the Nile River. We had some appetizers which were quite good and then THE ABSOLUTE BEST roasted chicken that I have ever eaten. YUM!! Drinks (even water) are an additional expense so just be aware of that. Our final stop after lunch was at the Egyptian museum. Mohamed bought us water to drink while we walked around- I guess we were supposed to ask for water/soda throughout the day if we wanted it. It was advertised that there would be water and sodas in the car but we didn’t have any provided up until this point. We spent about an hour walking around with Mohamed while he showed us the “must-see” points. Then he gave us recommendations and sent us on our own to wander around until closing time (45 min later). Be aware that there is a charge (50 Egyptian pounds) if you want to bring your camera inside. The museum is impressive!! We got back into the car and headed back to the hotel. We settled our “bill” 450 pounds for the camera and camel rides with Mohamed after we got back to the hotel. Once again he came in with us to make sure we were okay. He also offered two additional tours that evening if we were interested. He set us up with morning breakfast boxes- which we would not have known was an option so we were very thankful for his help! We were leaving for Luxor at 4:45 AM the next day though so we turned him down for an evening tour and just said our goodbyes (with a nice tip included for him and the driver who was also excellent). If you are able to request Mohamed from Cairo I would definitely do so…. he was amazing!!
The next morning our driver was there to bring us to the airport bright and early. We had no issues with our flight to Luxor and arrived a few minutes early. We had a bit of a scare because no one had a sign with “Tours from Hurghada” when we arrived. We waited about 30 minutes before asking another tour guide if he would call Ahmed whos number we had from previous emails and see where our guide was. I guess there are two companies that Ahmed owns and so the guide had mistakenly been holding the sign for the other company he runs. All was sorted out and we were on our way for the tour of Luxor. Our guide’s name was Mohamed again and he was so sweet to us. I was not feeling well in the morning. I had been sick on the plane and we had to stop twice for me to be ill on the way to the Valley of the Kings. He stopped and got us water and asked if we needed anything else before we got to the Valley of the Kings. Here you get entry to 3 tombs and they were impressive. Our guide didn’t recommend we do any additional tombs and he said what we were going to see was better than the additional ones (we appreciated his honesty!). Next up was Hatshepsut Temple which was just massive. We wish that our guide would have walked up into the Temple with us as we think we would have gotten more out of it to have him there but he gave us some information and then waited below in the shade. We next drove to the Colossi of Memnon which were two impressive statues. We were beaten and happy that lunch was next. We ate a place that overlooked the Nile River. Once again drinks were not included (but I think we probably could have brought water up from the car) but we did have a choice here of what we wanted to order. Since I was still not feeling well I had chicken and rice which was quite good (but not as good as Cairo) and my husband had a beef dish that was cooked in tomatoes in a clay pot. He said it was delicious. Also came with a bunch of sides. YUM! Next up was a ride down the Nile river- which was a surprise because I don’t think it was on our itinerary. It was quite nice and a very relaxing 30 minutes. We stopped at an Alabaster shop and watched the show. It was so smoky inside and I was not feeling well so we left pretty quickly and did not purchase anything. This was a regret of ours afterward. We wish we would have gotten a small vase or a glowing piece that was carved. They had some great stuff there. Our last stop of the day was at the Karnak temples. This place was AMAZING. You truly could spend all day here. We walked around with our guide for about 45 minutes and then he gave us some time to wander around ourselves. There was still a ton to see and we were disappointed that he originally wanted us to meet him in 20 minutes (at 3:30 PM). We pushed for a 4 pm time (originally wanted 5 pm but he was not happy about that). We enjoyed walking around the temples. The scale and preservation are incredible. We really enjoyed learning about the hieroglyphics from Mohamed when we were touring here too. We met back up with Mohamed at 4 pm and he transferred us to a smaller vehicle (normal 4 door car) for our ride back to Soma Bay (about a 4-hour drive). The car was very clean and spacious. It would be a tight squeeze if you had a lot of luggage or additional people. But for the 2 of us, it was perfect. We stopped once for our driver to get a quick dinner and gas on the way home but otherwise, it was an uneventful trip back home. We spent another 5 days in Soma Bay kiteboarding before taking our final trip back to the airport with Tours from Hurghada.
Overall we were thoroughly impressed with the company. We had an absolute blast touring Cairo and Luxor. If you have the time I would recommend adding a day to either or both locations as doing them back to back is quite exhausting- but totally doable! The vans and drivers were wonderful. The AC worked in all vans, they all smelled and looked very clean, and we felt safe for all the drives. Our guides were great- we LOVED Mohamed (Cairo) the most as he was so personable and funny, but also really enjoyed our time with Mohamed (Luxor) as he was so kind will my illness that morning and was incredibly knowledgeable- we learned so much!! You may need to ask for water or sodas throughout the day (we learned not to be shy and just ask for what we needed). All in all a FANTASTIC trip- well worth the money we spent!!

January 28, 20192 day tour Luxor and Cairo
From the moment we were picked up from our hotel in Hurghada to being dropped off there 2 days later we had a fantastic time. All thanks to Tours from Hurghada and their staff. From the taxi drivers to our guides Mohammad in Luxor and Ahmed in Cairo who were both very knowledgable. We felt completely safe at all times, and we were well taken care of by both guides and taxi drivers with the utmost courtesy.
Our accommodation in Luxor was very good, clean, with polite staff. Every detail was taken care of for us we had no need to worry about anything. We flew to Cairo and all transfers to and from the airport were all taken care of. This tour was planned with great attention to every detail and timed to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting valley of the kings and the pyramids, a life long ambition of ours. The 2 lunches included in the excursion were tasty and plentiful.
Don’t hesitate to use Tours from Hurghada they are fantastic and you will have a great time

January 28, 2019Cairo and Luxor highlights
We just got back from Egypt, I booked with the owner Ahmed a 3day all-inclusive tour for Cairo and Luxor highlights before my diving trip to the Red Sea. The Owner Ahmed emailed me all the details of the tour and answered any of my questions very promptly usually within 1 business day, catered the tour according to our specific needs very patiently and picked us up himself from the airport on the date of arrival. Our guide, also named Ahmed in Cairo and Mohammed in Luxor are both very knowledgeable Egyptologists, although we ran into a hot wave during those three days, (almost 45degrees! )The guides worked very diligently and made sure we had the best time. we are more than satisfied with the tour, highly recommend this touring company when visiting Egypt, reliable, trustworthy and informative.

January 28, 2019Cairo, Giza and Luxor
I used TFH to book two excursions whilst visiting Hurghada with my partner. This was a special holiday as it was my partner’s birthday 😉 and TFH made it VERY special !!!
A private tour to Cairo to visit the pyramids, the Sphinx and the museum was our first trip. Our tour guide Ahmed was fantastic, spoke fluent English and was so thorough explaining each and every place we visited, we felt like we were friends at the end of the day. The whole day was great and we had so much fun with Ahmed.
Luxor tour was our second trip to visit Karnak temple, the valley of the kings and queen Hachebsoot temple. We were picked up at five in the morning by our driver Amr. Amr is a nice young man, drove us everywhere and was an extremely polite and decent man.
Our tour guide Medo was just waiting for us at Luxor as he lives there, he joined us for all the day.
In both excursions many choices for lunch, we offered to choose from but we preferred to have our lunch at TGI Fridays in Cairo and Oriental lunch in Luxor and both were very tasty. We never felt rushed during the tours and we really felt very safe.
Thanks to Mr.Sam- our tour consultant from TFH – for arranging such amazing trips and making our trip so special.

January 28, 2019Amazing service
As we were going to Egypt on holiday in August we thought it would be nice to see some of the sights while we were there but due to the political unrest, we were not sure how safe it would be.
After some looking around I found Tours From Hurghada who offered a very good service with private transport and a personal tour guide I contacted them to inquire about the two day trip by air to Cairo & Luxor I received a reply promptly with the price in British pounds and a full description of the trip that explained what was included, pickup times and useful information of what to bring etc.
I paid a deposit via Western Union which was extremely easy to set up and use on receipt of my deposit I received our air tickets for the flights from Hurghada to Cairo & Cairo to Luxor all was arranged very easily.
On the day of the trip, our transport to the airport was waiting for us at our hotel on time & the flight was problem free and only took about 50 mins. On arrival our tour guide and driver were there to meet us the tour guide whose name I am afraid I have forgotten after two weeks of the holiday was very friendly and very knowledgeable he explained everything to us which made the trip very interesting. We went to the Egyptian museum this was the only area we could see the signs of the unrest as tanks and soldiers were around the square but this was not at all frightening. We also went to Giza to see the pyramids & sphinx.L unch was included in the price the restaurant was on the banks of the Nile there was an open buffet with lots of choices. Our driver was extremely good and if you have not seen the traffic in Cairo then it’s just like dodgem cars no rules no traffic signals or roundabouts so you need a good driver.
Late in the afternoon, we were taken back to the airport for our flight to Luxor once at Luxor we were met by our guide and driver who took us to our hotel for the night The Sonesta St George Hotel which was on the banks of the Nile on arrival we were upgraded free of charge. The hotel was very good we could get an evening meal which is not included in the price. We had breakfast the next morning which is included the restaurant opens early which is good as it’s an early start.
Our guide was there on time to pick us up, we saw many things from the Valley of the kings, Hatshepsut Temple & a lovely boat ride on the Nile while the minibus went the long way around from the west bank to the east this gave us some time to relax drifting down the Nile drinking coffee. Again there were signs of the loss of tourism in Egypt with many Nile cruise boats moored up. Lunch was again included we were given the choice of an open buffet or an Egyptian restaurant we chose the Egyptian and were very pleased we did. After lunch, we went to the Karnak temple which was amazing again our guide was very knowledgeable and a very nice young man.
After Karnak, our driver drove us across the desert back to our hotel which is about a three-hour drive but in your own air-conditioned minibus, it was no trouble.
This was a very good trip and I am glad we did it the service we got from Tours from Hurghada was a top class a very memorable two days.
